Matthew Taylor has written his own whirlwind ‘Tarantella Furiosa’ in response to the breakneck finale of the Kreutzer Sonata.
David Matthews has taken Beethoven’s last sonata, op. 96, and reduced its structure to the bare essentials. His ‘Sonatina’ compresses all of the formal elements of Beethoven’s sublime work as well as seizing upon some of its motifs too.
